I'm back!/Five on Friday

Hi Ya’ll
I know, I know… I haven’t written in a while. Life has just seemed to be SO crazy lately. I haven’t had the time to sit down and actually type anything in the last several months. I have a LOT to update you with but for today I am just going to jump back in to one of my favorite posts… FIVE ON FRIDAY. Here we go!

-ONE-
Last Saturday we went and got our Christmas tree! I have never had a real tree before so I was PUMPED! It was so fun to go pick out the tree and then take it home and decorate it! I love Christmas.

Seriously... that face. Up to no good.

-TWO-
Tonight I am having a Christmas craft night with some girlfriends! I can’t wait to drink hot chocolate and make some pretty decorations. These are some of our inspirations! EEK!

-THREE-
Tomorrow we taking our pictures for our Christmas card! I can’t wait. They aren’t going to be anything fancy or anything but I am still just so excited! I can’t wait to see how they turn out. Here is a little peek into some of my inspiration for our pictures.

-FOUR-
Tomorrow night we have a beautiful winter wedding to go to. A college roommate of mine is getting married and I am SO excited to help her celebrate her wedding. It is going to be so beautiful. She is going to have a hot chocolate bar! How cute is that?! I love winter weddings.

-FIVE-
This week I had the college small group I lead over for a Christmas party! It was so great hanging out with them, playing games, eating yummy food and laughing… a lot!

Don’t worry folks! I won’t disappear again! Have a beautiful weekend!

Five on Friday!

Happy Friday Y’all!!
I don’t know about you but I am SO pumped for the weekend! I have a pretty relaxing schedule this weekend and I couldn’t be happier about it!

-ONE-
Who else is pumped to have Christina and the girls start Five on Friday up again? I sure am!

-TWO-
One of my best friends is EXPECTING!! I cannot even tell you how excited I am that she is going to have a little one! I think about it all the time and whenever I see any baby items I just want to buy all of it for her sweet little babe. I just wish we didn’t live two hours apart! Keshia when you find out what you are having just know I am going to go crazy and buy your little one all sorts fun stuff! Maybe items like these cute little outfits. These little clothes make me want to squeal because of how adorable they are.

-THREE-
I have had had several coffee dates this week and that really fills me up. There is just something about sitting down with someone, drinking your favorite hot beverage and sharing your heart with them. It makes my heart really happy.

-FOUR-
I have been really trying to hold back the fall desserts so far (trying not to gain 50 pounds…) but I am going to definitely give in this weekend. I found a few recipes on Pinterest that just look too good to be true! Don’t these just make your tummy grumble and your mouth water?! Just me? K, cool.

-FIVE-
Can we just take a moment to appreciate this… I know I am obsessed with my cat but seriously, isn’t this adorable? These two fight most of the time but then they have their moments where they cuddle with each other and it melts my heart.

Have a great weekend!!

Oh hey Friday!

Per usual I will be linking up with the girls from Oh Hey Friday!
I love this link-up because it is such a simple way to keep track of my week. Part of what I use my blog for is an online diary. It is a place I can write about the things that stood out to me that week, what I have learned, where I went and who I saw. I love the simplicity of posting your favorite 5 things of the week.

-ONE-
We attended a very fun wedding last Friday night and I just loved the little details that they had thought of. Weddings are such a great way to see part of someone’s personality and the things they enjoy. I love seeing all the DIY projects people do now days and how creative they are!

-TWO-
Yesterday I hosted my VERY FIRST GIVEAWAY! I was way too excited about it! Make sure to enter for the chance to win an adorable print as well as a $40 Target gift card. Who doesn’t love Target?!

-THREE-
The hubs and I went on a much needed date night this week! We have had such a BUSY summer so far so it was definitely a wonderful break from all the craziness!

-FOUR-
In less than two weeks we will in CALI!! My side of the family is having a family reunion in Santa Cruz, California and I am SO EXCITED! I can’t wait to see my extended family as well as enjoy some R&R on the beach! Counting down the days!

-FIVE-
Tonight we are having a bunch of people over to our house for a grill out and sand volleyball tourney. I am pretty excited about it but also pretty nervous. We haven’t had large groups of people over to our house yet and it is pretty tiny so hopefully everyone fits! No matter what it will be a great time though I know it!

-FOUR-
Got to have a night at home with my hubs this week... oh and our little fur baby... if you knew how busy our summer has been with baseball you would know how amazing that was! Thankful for the time that we had to eat and talk, go on a drive, make each other laugh really hard, and watch a movie!

-FIVE-
This is not from this week but since I didn't post last Friday I am going to add it. Went to a Need to Breathe concert last Tuesday! SOOO Amazing! I have seen them a few times in concert and each time it is better and better! The great part was it was outside by the river and the weather was GORGEOUS! My favorite part about the entire trip... got to see two of my roommates from college that I hadn't seen in a while! Love those two so much and am so thankful for the opportunity to catch up!

Please don't mind the horrible picture of my above... I wasn't quite ready.

Have a beautiful day!

Five on Friday!

-ONE-
This has been a hard week. I have been having a really hard time being content and satisfied. I am resting in the Word of the Lord this morning. I am hoping and praying next week will be much better. Sometimes life seems overwhelming but I need to remember that the Lord will always be bigger than any of the struggle or mess of this world. My sweet friend Sami gave me some encouraging scripture this morning and I am very thankful for it today!

"As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father? If God doesn't discipline you as he does all of his children, it means that you are his illegitimate and are not really his children at all. Since we respected are earthly fathers who discipline us, shouldn't we submit even more to the discipline of the Father of our spirits, and live? For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God's discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness. No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening- it's painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way."
Hebrews 12:7-11

-TWO-
My garden is finished! I am pretty excited to see how this little guy turns out! Can't wait to make some homemade salsa with the goodies from this garden!

If you look closely you can see my little peonies blooming! I love peonies so very much!

-THREE-
I am excited to get my baby back today! She has been at the vet almost all week getting de-clawed! Poor little girl! I can't wait for some kitten snuggles tonight!

-FOUR-
I have been making homemade iced coffees all week and let me tell you they are the highlight of my mornings!

-FIVE-
Here's to a new day and a weekend full of sunshine! (hopefully!)
I am so ready to start the weekend and keep reflecting on His truth. Sometimes, certain days are harder than others.

Thankful for a night with the girls tonight.

Have a great weekend friends!

Five on Friday!

Good morning lovely!

How are you today? Are you having a good week or a bad week? Did you have any adventures? I would love to connect with you if I haven't yet! Shoot me an email or something and we can become friends!

Here's my five for the week!
-ONE-
Not sure if you have notice but I have a new blog design and name! Since we celebrated our one year anniversary I thought it was time to change the name of the blog from Bliss and Blunders of a Newlywed to just Bliss and Blunders: Tales From An Everyday Wife. I thought that suited my season of life better than the other one! I designed the background myself so that was quite the adventure! Excited to see what God has in store for Bliss and Blunders this year!

-TWO-
