Five on Friday!

Can't believe what a busy and fast week it has been! Christmas is in only 5 days! WOW! Here are my 5 from this week!

-ONE- On Saturday I got to spend time with my two beautiful friends Dana and Chelsea. We sat and talked for around 6 hours. It was WONDERFUL! They are such beautiful examples to me. I love hearing their hearts.

-TWO- On Sunday night, the pastor from our church asked us to come over and join them for some       pre-marital counseling with a couple that is getting married in a few weeks. He knew that we were newly married and wanted to hear about what we learned in our first 7 months of marital bliss. I was kind of nervous before hand because I kept thinking, "What do we know? We are still new at this!" But it was so much better than I expected. We were so comfortable and honest with them. JP did an amazing job of explaining some of our struggles as well as some of the things that we LOVE about being married. It was a refreshing time to share with other people about the first half of our first year as husband and wife! It was great for us and the couple we were meeting with seemed to love the time as well. It was a blessing all around.

-THREE- I attended a Preschool Christmas program on Wednesday for my "little bro" Ayden. It was SO precious! They were so darling and also so nervous, excited and restless all at the same time! It was a beautiful time to see their innocence and enjoy some time with my "Cedar Falls Family." I love them oh so much.

-FOUR- JP had the adorable idea to have a "Christmas Night." He thought it would be fun to go to dinner, finish/start our Christmas shopping and then bake cookies and wrap presents when we got home. Since I love things with themes and I love Christmas I LOVED that idea! We ate at Panera and oh my goodness, it was delicious! They have AMAZING hot chocolate! It is salted caramel and has chocolate chip marshmallows in it! Afterwards we did our shopping and then headed home. My poor husband was so exhausted from being up since 4:30 that we had a pretty low key evening and went to bed pretty early but it was a wonderful and relaxing evening!

Yummmm!!!

We had White Christmas on in the background. My favorite Christmas movie!

This is how my husband wraps presents!! So sweet.

I love my husband and how goofy we are together! :)

-FIVE- I came to work today and a "Secret Santa" had dropped off this for everyone that works at the church. How thoughtful and giving!

How are you spending your weekend?

Love,

Five on Friday!

It is definitely beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here!
I NEED to finish my Christmas shopping! I have a lot of gifts left to get and I am running out of time! Tomorrow I am going to try and start and finish my shopping. We will see how that goes!

-ONE- Last night we went to the "Christmas on Main" event in our town. All of the shops had decorated their windows there were people passing out hot chocolate and s'mores, people caroling, and even sleigh rides! It was very fun to walk around and look at all the shops since I haven't been able to visit many of them since living here. BUT it was COLD! We only stayed for about 30 minutes and we were freezing.

-TWO- Also last night my small group of girls I lead came over for a fun Christmas craft night! It was so fun to eat, talk, work on crafts and just relax. The girls have finals next week and so this was a great time for a study break!

So much yummy food!
We love crafts!

-THREE-  Tomorrow I am having coffee with one of my dear friends Chelsea and our "Cedar Falls Momma," Dana. Chels and I lived with Dana and her husband last year and we both got married within 4 months of each other. We haven't been able to see Chels since her wedding so we are pretty excited to catch up!

-FOUR- Here is my Christmas wish list! I am not much of a gifts person and I really didn't feel like I needed anything this Christmas but people kept asking me so this is what I came up with!

-FIVE- Ugly Christmas Sweater party tonight! Woot woot! :) Get out those snowflake turtle necks and Santa earrings!
What is the ugliest Christmas sweater you have seen?

Recap!

In the middle of November I seemed to get incredibly busy and got VERY behind on my Thankful posts as well as my update posts. Here is a quick recap of the rest of November and the beginning of December.

Happy 6 Month Anniversary Honey! Every day of our marriage gets better and better!!

Our 6 Month Wedding Anniversary was on November 18 but since it fell on a Monday and we have Community Group on Mondays, we celebrated on the Friday before. We went to dinner at one of our favorite places in town called The Brown Bottle. It was delicious! I always end up getting the same thing because it is always so amazing!

We had such great conversations during dinner and it was great to reflect on the last 6 months of our marriage. It went SO fast!! I can't wait to continue to grow and learn more about him during the rest of our marriage!

After dinner we went to a local coffee shop called Cup of Joe. It is the cutest little place! It is so cozy and comfortable and on Friday nights they have live music. There were some gentleman playing jazz music when we were there and it was the perfect atmosphere for the rest of our anniversary date!

One thing you should know about JP and I is that we are both REALLY competitive...especially against each other. We love to play board games together and they are always INTENSE! There is often a lot of smack talk and even sometimes some throwing of playing pieces.                            (cough, that is always me, cough)

One of our favorite games to play with each other is Sequence.

It was such a great night and Jordan ended up winning, much to my despair.

SO glad I get to spend the rest of my life with this handsome man.
Such a great night!

On Monday November 23, I had some of the girls from our Community Group over to our house for a Christmas craft and hang out night while the guys went and watched football at a bar. I had 15 ladies crammed into my tiny living room and it was WONDERFUL! So many great conversations and we had such a great time. God has truly blessed me through our community group!

On Tuesday, November 26 I went over to Matt and Dana's house to spend time with them and also have Dana help me make a  Christmas wreath for our house. You can read about how amazing they are here. Dana is so talented and it was great to just spend time chatting and enjoy each others company. I love her and her family SO much and am blessed by them every day!

November 28 HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

{This was my post on Instagram and facebook so I thought I would share it with all of my blog friends as well!}

Happy Thanksgiving from the Prescotts!! We have so much to be thankful for today! His infinite and amazing grace that covers us always, our wonderful families and friends, our great jobs, and our beautiful home. #Godisgood #thankful #handsomehusband

"Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!" Psalm 95:2

We traveled to JP's aunt and uncles house about 2 1/2 hours away on Thanksgiving day. We saw family, had great conversations, took some naps and of course at a LOT of food.

Doesn't this just look amazing!?!

On Thursday night we traveled to my parents house, another 2 1/2 hours away, for a couple of days. It was great to spend time with my parents, sister and my sister's boyfriend Phil.

On Friday morning we did our annual Black Friday shopping trip and I was able to bring Jordan with us for the first time! He actually really enjoyed himself.

We needed  some coffee to keep us awake!

On Saturday we visited my sweet Grandmother and then did a little more shopping. My sister and I got matching ponchos!

We always have a lot of fun when we are together!
On Sunday, December 1 we decided (meaning me) it was time to decorate our house and put up our tree. I have never had a real tree so I was hoping to get one this year but at the last minute we decided to wait till next year and to just use our fake tree this year. It still turned out beautifully and I loved being able to spend the day together doing something festive!

My favorite part about our tree!

All is calm, all is bright!

Last Wednesday JP and I went on a date! We ate at Red Lobster and then enjoyed some time browsing Barnes and Noble. (Something we both love to do!)

In his happy place :)

A recent craft project of mine! Love the way it turned out! Tutorial coming soon!

It has been SOOOO cold here lately so we have been drinking a LOT of hot chocolate!

And... Caribou. We have one just a couple blocks from our house and they have been having a buy one get one free deal for a while. Why wouldn't I take advantage of that?

Whew! Thanks for sticking around for all of that! I will hopefully be doing updates more often now so my posts won't be as long.

Hope you stay warm and cozy tonight!

Love,
             Lindsey
